Don't Be Afraid of the Cranberry Suit

I’ve been looking for a cotton slim fit suit (that isn’t khaki) since the first day of Spring. When I came across this number, a cranberry-colored suit from Express (photographer fit), I knew I had to have it.

It can be tough to wear suits during the heat, and if you’re anything like me (A clown that wears a suit frequently, minus the clown part) then I get it. First, opt-in for a summer-friendly fabric suit like cotton or linen. Second, wear color. I’m a huge fan of a traditional khaki-colored cotton suit, but at times I want to go against the grain and wear an unexpected pop of color. Stay away from bright (and obnoxious) colors like orange or lime (yes, those suits exist).

Cotton suits are literally my best summer armor (when I have to wear a suit). They’re lightweight and carry that casual element which makes the suit super versatile, so feel free to throw on a pair of sneakers (like these white low-top sneakers), boat shoes or espadrilles. Also, don’t fear the wrinkles in the suit. It shows that you’re not afraid to actually WORK.
