Last Look From Milan: A Striped, Short-Sleeved Shirt to Wear All Summer

Need a foolproof look for summer? Keep it casual with an unbuttoned shirt as a layering piece, but add a touch of elegance with a perfectly tailored pair of pants.

Hey, gidday mates! I’m writing this from my bed in my apartment in New York City, and it feels gooooood. What I would give to stay in this exact spot for the next 24 hours and doze and order Seamless and watch Netflix… But the real world beckons, and the moment I’m done with this blog post it’s straight out the door to meetings, then a tennis academy courtesy of Lacoste, and then Jenny Albright and I are DJing a party tonight at my favourite late night venue Never Never. No rest for the wicked. But to the matter at hand, this was the final outfit I wore to the Milan men’s shows. I wanted to go casual after the jacket and tie from the day before, and it just so happened that everywhere I went, yellow followed me.

This striped shirt/grey pants combo has been one of my favourites this summer — I’m obsessed with the 1950s fit when I wear it tucked in (as seen here), but I also really like that play of proportions when I wear the pants pulled up high with a T-shirt tucked in, and the striped shirt worn on top as a light layering piece. I’d definitely be investing in short sleeve shirts this summer if I was you — the styling options they’ll give you are endless.

I’m wearing: Gant Rugger short sleeve shirt and pants; Baha’i Faith T-shirt purchased at the Los Angeles Baha’i Center in 2012; and Dr Martens shoes.

Gelatos and goodbyes with old mate @tonythornburg after an amazing week in Milan. See you soon, buddy! @richardbiedul
